Why Are So Many People Choosing Tooth Colored Fillings?

Nowadays, people are moving away from the traditional metal fillings and are more frequently choosing tooth colored options. If you are considering one of these fillings, there are a variety of benefits that can help you to make your decision:

•  More attractive. Tooth colored fillings are more attractive than silver, metal fillings. These fillings will blend in easily with the surrounding teeth, so most people won't even be able to tell that you've had a dental procedure done.
•  A boost in confidence. Fillings that match the natural color of your teeth will give you the appearance of a cavity-free mouth. You'll be able to smile confidently, knowing that your teeth look like they are free of metal.
•  Great replacements. Tooth colored fillings act as great replacements, so if your old, metal fillings need to be replaced, you can use tooth colored options. These fillings will restore the strength and appearance of teeth that have been treated in the past.
•  Safe. Metal fillings can contract and expand with temperature fluctuations, and this could potentially cause breakage. Tooth colored options won't have this problem.
•  Improved strength. Tooth colored fillings will be bonded right to the teeth, helping to restore the tooth to its original, strong state.
•  No discoloration. With time, metal fillings have been known to make a tooth look grayish in color. A tooth colored filling won't cause any discoloration of the teeth.
•  Save more of your tooth. Traditional metal fillings will require that some of the damaged tooth is removed before the filling can be placed. This isn't the case with tooth colored options, as you'll be able to keep even more of your natural tooth.
